I just installed a hitch on my L400. I took and old hitch originally use on a GMC pick-up truck, modified it and fit it to my L400 with some bolts and brakets. Look nice and make the van much more usefull by being able to use a trailler!

Looks Great. Could you post some pics of how you mounted it? Thanks

Looks great! I like your idea and also would like a view from under you van to see your brackets and bolts. :-)

This is where the mount points are on a SWB

The L-shaped mount point where the stock bull bar bolts to is not enough to for towing. Just for show. To get safe towing capacity on any hitch in an L400, you have to run the channel back along the frame like in the picture. LWB extends further back.

Here's a picture of under the van. I cannot say that it is the most reliable mounting, but for what i'm gonna use my trailler for, I think it's enough. I use 1/4" thick metal and 1/2" grade bolt. I also attach a braket to the bumper mounting. I did'n drill any new holes on the van, I use those already there.
The big deal with all of this was to cut and drill in this 1/4" thick steel. Took me more than 3 days to install all of this!

Salut
