lots of smoke
lately my van's exhaust has been smoking more than usual. any ideas why? or how to minimize this? is it normal to always billow out black smoke when accelerating? i drive a 1994 L300 turbo Diesel. thanks!

Check you timimg. Also when I changed my head I found the intake manafold was coated in exaust residue, could be your air fuel mixture is out.

Change the air filter. Yup, number 1 thing to do. Regardless of how clean it LOOKS, if you can't see ight evenly though ALL the paper baffles, you are restricting the airflow. Easy, chea, and yes it makes a huge difference immediately. Cheers, Christine.
