Paranoid dealers!?

Post by nxski »

I've noticed that one dealer in particular seems to be paranoid about getting bad reviews to the point where they will start arguments with people who sound as though they MIGHT be talking about them in a negative light. I don't want to name any names in case I am biased and others haven't noticed this but I would like to allow people to voice their opinions on this type of behavior. I think it is very unprofessional and reflects much worse upon the company than any negative reviews would. I hope that this will help to point out to anyone who is guilty of this behavior that people notice it and that it is not a good way of running a business.

What is the point of the thread? Other then bashing the company that will become apparent as people vote.

All I will say so as not to break rule 1.1.1

Essentially that is the point however it's not so much bashing as it is constructive criticism. If a company wants more support they have to listen to their customers rather than argue with them (the customer is alway right). I have absolutely nothing against the company that I have in mind but feel the need to point out something that I feel reflects negatively on them. I find criticism is the most helpful advice when trying to improve my own company.

At any rate, even if I am biased and no one else has noticed this type of behavior from any one company I think this thread should serve as a reminder of what not to do.

I do not believe that this does break any of the rules nor do I believe that makes sense to have rules such ad this when so many on the forum complain about out society turning into a "nanny state" however that is a discussion I won't get onto right now so for the purpose of this thread I believe I am playing within the 'guidelines'. In addition the result of this would point out companies that are breaking these 'rules'.

I've made an executive decison to remove the "Poll" on this thread.

While the author no doubt had only the best of intentions in creating the poll, it became pretty clear that the general nature of the poll was too "general" in nature (its somewhat difficult to pinpoint any objective measure of "dealer whininess" :-D ) and pushing too far past the outside limits of Site Rule 1.1.1 http://www.delica.ca/forum/site-rule-483.html

Specific dealer experiences (positive or negative) are always welcome, as these are informative to members (and people know who to contact fo further clarification regarding an incident).

Sorry mark, I re-added it as I thought I had accidentally deleted it. I don't mean to sound rude but I see this thread as having no real purpose without the poll as I would not expect anyone to post a comment 'bashing' any of the dealers. Is there another way youd like me to word it? I also wonder if this forum is meant to be a dictatorship or a democracy!? Whatever the answer I will do my best to live with it. :-D

No worries - I've removed the 2nd poll that you accidently re-added.

As noted, my reason for stepping in was not an attempt to prevent you from expressing your specific concerns with any one dealer, but rather with the "polling" format itself.

Cheers,
Mark

Fair enough. In that case I will edit my initial post and ask for others to offer input rather than to vote for a company.

Agreed -- asking folks to post directly is better on something like this, because it requires posters to take ownership over their opinions (and unlike polls) gives people the opportunity to provide some details regarding their dealer experiences (whether positive or negative).
