seat belt retractor

Post by blevesque@shaw.ca »

Hi Folks,

Just got a 96 Super Exceed Space Gear and the driver's seat belt retracts at a snail's pace. Any advice about how to access/ service it?

Re: seat belt HELP!

With characteristic impatience, I took the seat belt mechanism out from behind the interior panels to have a look. Despite instructions on the UK forum to re-tension it, I decided the mechanism is "non-servicable" and focused on cleaning and lubricating things to make it work. Didn't seem to help much until yesterday I realized the belt was working perfectly. It pulled out and retracted while driving, just like new, but this morning it won't retract at all and is stuck as far out as it will go. All this makes me think there is an issue with the solenoid or the wire that powers it. Any advice?

Yes. I think so anyway. Check out the UK forum string for some photos and more info...http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopi ... +seat+belt
