Hello,
1992 Pajeor lwb 2.5L 465d-TD
Intercooler fan motor not working. Quite a bit of white smoke now, not a problem before.
Have yet to pull apart to check motor itself but do not get a voltage at the power connector.
If memory serves this motor is supposed to start as soon as you turn key to heat up glow plugs? Think I recall hearing that every time. Need to pay more attention!
Just discovered in a manual there is an ECU unit to control this fan. Must mean there is a sensor for it somewhere??
When the motor goes is it typically just that or do other parts tend to go with it?
Other than the smoke seems to run ok. Is there much of a danger using the vehicle in the mean time until I can get this addressed?
Also, any idea where I can get the little motor for replacement? I'd hate to have to replace the entire intercooler just for this little motor.
Thank you for your help.

Re: intercooler fan motor not working
Hey,
Where the hell is white smoke coming from?
If the fan is stuck and cooking just unplug it.
I was under the impression that the fan has its
own thermostat so it is not on all the time.
I think it is more for moving air when you are at
more of a crawl and not getting enough air being
rammed through it by your vehicles velocity.
The air scoops are in the hood at the front not
so garishly hood scooped like the 2.8's
(admittedly much slicker looking
)
Good Luck
