Could be a blown turbo. That issue has come up on the forum before but I can't quite remember the exact issue. Try searching "blown turbo" or "no power" or something to that effect.
Hope this helps.

hi,thanks will do a search,,
i had to replace a manifold that had a crack and my turbo had what seemed to be a lot of oil build up ,so when i did the manifold, i also replaced the turbo with a much better/newer on at the same time,i have had a rough pressure gauge on it and it seems to have pressure,

battery ok
fuel pump seems good
glow plugs good
radiator good
head gasket good
rockers good
air filter new
fuel filter new
oil filter new
only thing i can think of are injectors, however if it were them, the van would stall or not have revs,,
???????????

Hi, on the front of the turbo there is two small hoses,,
one goes to the top of the fuel pump and one to the back of the turbo,
So my question is looking from the front of the van, which hose goes to which, that is,,
the one closest to the motor goes to the fuel pump
and the one closest to the drivers side goes to the back of the turbo???

and if i have managed to mix these up what would be the result??
thanks

Dude, have you gone to "L300 Delica Downloads"(in Delica Canada Technical)? In there you will find all sorts of diagrams and exploded views of the vacuum system, the intake manifold, &c., in the form of PDF files. Perhaps that will help.

Hi there,
Is your EGR System Blanked off?
A stuck EGR Valve could Decrease the amount your turbo will spool up and cause a loss of power...
Can you take a Pic of the Vaccum lines you are refering too?
Cheers!

3 days ? wow. Regardless, if your timing is off, you'll get loss of power. Also if you injectors are clogged, you may get a smooth idle but not enough pressure on the higher rev's for power.

if you're fuel filter is clogged or your air filter, you may experience power loss as well.

From your list, it sounds like the turbo is not functioning properly or your timing is off.

HOw are you doing?
There are lots of people here to help you.

Just to reassure you, if your turbo is dead, it is not a crisis, you can drive without one, just don't have the ooomph when you press the fuel pedal on hills (but it sure is a lot quieter without the turbo whine). The commercial trucks and vans in 2WD version didint have turbo at all. Many guys can't hear the turbo whine, but women can as it is high pitched. Can you record the audio while parked, pressing the fuel pedal to the floor, then letting go the fuel pedal. YOu tube it or post it or email me (or just phone me with the phone by the drivers door), I'll tell you if that horrible turbo whine is there.

Dennis Lambert gave you good advice re egr. Also, There is a small (black?) vaccuum hose atop the engine, that connects to the EGR. You can pinch it off temporarily to see if any effect, if no change to engine idle then your egr is clogged and not working anyway (so dont need to blank off the egr).

I find the air filter makes a huge HUGE affect on the engine, if mine is even slightly dirty it feels like my engine is dying and will barely start. Try removing it temporarily to see if any difference.

You mention you replaced the manifold, did you also replace all gaskets (or use that toothpaste like gasket liquid). ARE there any oil leaks that would indicate where air is getting in (check the base of the oil dipstick for an o ring there). And are you sure you got a correct replacement part, where did you get it?

Cheers, Christine.
