I spent a day trying to figure out why the reverse lights aren't lighting up when I put my automatic transmission on reverse (I even dismantled the whole shifting stick assembly...).
I made searches on this forum but couldn't find anything valuable, except for the L-300_87-92 wiring diagram, and the fuses box diagram. Bulbs and fuses are OK.
According to the wiring diagram, there is a reverse lamp switch somewhere, but I am not sure of where it is. Are the reverse lights activated by a switch located close to the transmission?
Historical fact: The previous owner said he was backing up the shifting stick all the way to L before returning to D; he was doing it everytime he was shifting forward in order to close the "reverse lights". Last winter I began having trouble to get to L or 2 (it was stiffier everyday), until it simply stopped going further than D.
Today I found this part was broken (see picture out of another tread):

I removed some broken pieces out of it and found myself able again to shift all the way down to L. But that's when I found reverse lights were not working anymore ...

Is this related to the reverse lights? Or does anyone have an idea where else to find the reverse light switch?
Thank's in advance,
