Cleaning up the door weather shields

Does anyone have some insight or tips on how to make the weather shields (on top of the passenger and driver door windows) clear again? I am tall so when I look both ways I have to duck down to see under the shields. If there is any way to make them transparent again that would be great. My neck thanks you in advance.

After not seeing a pedestrian and having to hit the binders I took mine off with a knife and some goof off. They weren't too bad until it was dark or wet. Also when off road you will hit yourself on them when trying to look out the door and drive.

But if someone has a pajero and wants them they are free for the taking.

Possibly the same solution used for making headlights clear again!? Or replace them with the type Mardy sells which aren't quite as large.

I had the same issue and resolved it by removing the offending plastic shields.
If your ever at CCautos as Glen about how he removed the driver's side one on his first L-300...

Call up mardy. I got a brand new set from him and they're way better looking than the originals. Good price too, can't remember what he charges but it was worth it!

I have had great luck on plastics with "Mirror Glaze", get it from Lordco, use the cleaner and polish. Crappy tire also sells an all in one made by Mquire as well for marine applications, black spray bottle. Had jeeps for years and used these types of products to keep them crystal clear.

I have scrapped my knuckles on them trying to give the finger to a truck driver here! The A-hole pulled out infront of me and gave me my first rock chip I like the way the big chunky ones look. As for contacting Mardy, if anyone knows the appriopriate smoke signal or moonbeam or morse code I would need to get ahold of him, then maybe I would try. Can't get ahold of him through conventional methods and I am still waiting on a TPS (6 weeks today, by the way).

I just don't want to make the plastic any worse on the weather shields, but I want to keep them.

I probably can't count the amount of times I have called and left messages, gotten a full voicemail, and emailed. I really need to get this TPS sorted out. It has been festering with me for a long time and I have several new parts I want to put in but the TPS should go in first. It is going to start getting really cold here soon so I really need to get this underway. So I sit and wait....

It's too bad you don't live in the lower mainland, a sure fire way to see him is to show up at the shop and wait (I ran into one guy who had waited 4+ hours) but in the end Mardy showed up. Have you tried Rocky Mountain or CCA for parts? If you haven't already paid I wouldn't feel any obligation to buy it from Amazing Auto's even if he's already ordered it. 6 weeks is a very long time! If by chance it is about to be shipped it could be a good time to add the plastic guards to your order to save on some shipping costs though.

Small planes pilots use lemon pledge to clean the plastic windows try that...has to be lemon to work.

I've had really good luck with Brasso polish on mine using a soft micro fiber cloth (so no chance of scratching from the cloth) then washed off with soap and water.... Worked well for me, but try a small unobtrusive area first to make sure it will work for yourself and the condition of your weather sheilds..
