Oil Pressure Check Light Not Working.

Oil Pressure Check Light Not Working.
I noticed recently that my oil pressure check light no longer comes on with the ignition. I pulled the cluster out and swapped some bulbs around and the light is still out. It did come back on for one start cycle a couple days ago but has now seemed to have quit for good. My question is where is the signal sent from, so I can attempt to trace back and find the issue.
On a side note, while the cluster was out, I re-soldered all the visible contacts on the back of the cluster to try and fix my intermittent/bouncing tach that seems to plague many of the pajeros and delicas out there. It has not solved the problem. Where is the tach signal sent from as well.

The oil pressure sending unit is located under the oil filter on the pedestal mount assembly. It's just a single wire unit, so it's possible the connection broke right at the sensor...If required, a new sensor is like 5 bucks, but it is a very rare thread pitch. And by rare I mean 10mm 0.9...which is like a 27 1/4 npt.

thanks for the info, It came back on again today for a two starts. I recently did an oil change so its possible it was damaged. Ill take a look

Had this happen a year or so ago. Turned out to be the sensor went. Yes, it was about $5.00
Told its a very common size in Japanese vehicles. The mechanic I took it to had no trouble at all getting it. Don't recall the number ..NP1 or something like that. Don't look for that number I know its wrong, just recall something along that line.
Obviously the most important thing is to confirm your oil pump is working. First double check your oil level. Second with engine running remove the oil cap and observe oil it being pumped up into valve cover. You can also pull out dip stick and it should splatter out a bit.
If its not doing the above DON'T DRIVE IT. If it is pumping but the oil light is not turning off its most likely the sensor in my experience and you should be ok to drive it to the store to get the appropriate part.
(I'm not a mechanic though so ultimately don't listen to me)

It has started working again, so my guess is the sensor is on the fritz. Where could I find this part. Is it a something that was also used on cars/trucks in available here North America?

Sorry, can't help you with part because someone else sourced it and have no idea where he got it.
I'm sure someone on here will come along and send you in the correct direction. Lots of helpful people on here.

str8gooods, I can easily find the part number based on the chassis number if you want; just PM it to me. You can also install MMC ASA and DIY.

OK, in your case you can use the part shown below )which I have already posted in another thread) or any cross referenced one. I paid $18 for an aftermarket one in Lordco which I concider a ripoff. The genuine one should not cost more than $25.

It looks like the part is for a Fuso so the dealer should carry it!?

Fuso is handled by Pacific Coast Heavy Truck on Annacis Island, I've only been there once and that was back in '08. Here is the phone number: Fuso ~ (604)-526 2231. They are open 07hrs to midnight on weekdays & 07hrs to 17hrs on the Saturday & Sunday. Not sure how much is going to cross reference but it's worth a try.

The Lordco part you post is from China.
There are $5 switch and $55 switch in the market.
You will get what you paid for.

Of course there are some good quality parts there as their market is incredibly huge.

If you use it with modi ( lots of labour ), it may last a few days.
