I have a friend of a friend who owns a fish and chip shop. Said I can have all the oil I want but it is De-hydrogenated. He says he had someone enquire about getting his oil before but in the end the whole "de-hydrogenated" thing turned them off.
So, I have looked around the internet longer than I care to and have not found any info on what exactly it is or why I couldn't use it. Anyone else know? Not that I really need it, I have a source that is a block away from my house but I figured if I couldnt get enough from them, I have him as an option.
I am going to assume the hydrogen is removed making the oil less burnable?????

Re: De-hydrogenated oil?
I think it has something to do with the length of the molecule making it thicker than non-hydrogenated oil. But then again I could just be talking out my A##.

Re: De-hydrogenated oil?
Eric, de-hydrogenated is fine. But is it vegetable oil or canola oil? There is a additive to some of the newer veggie oils (not canola) that could cause seal damage, but the anti-foaming agent hasn't been shown to cause damage - people are just being careful.
