Is the only way to adjust the idle to use the "cold start screw" by the battery & way down deep? I could have sworn when I was going over my Deli with the dude I bought it off he adjusted the idle with his hand under the hood?
So far asI know the wax cold start design is the proper device to adjust the cold start idling. It is suppose to have the cold idle at appro. 1200-1300 rpm .The design is like a thermostat, when the proper temp. is reached , the idling will lower to 800-900 rpm. This is the adjustment of the idling screw ( under the hood )is being used at this point to obtain this idling by turning left ( to raise ) or right ( to lower ).
Hope this helps. I am sure someone knows more will give help very soon. Jesse, where are you?
Idle adjustment is an 8mm bolt with a 10mm locking nut. It is protruding from the front of the injection pump. Search brings up many many examples including pictures.
Cold start is different. That is behind/underneath the injection pump and is a tiny flat head adjustment bolt facing vertically.
