Hey guys/gals
I'm replacing my L400 front brake lines. The upper rubber bumper stops touch the brake line assembly and prevent removal of the brake line.
Do the torsion bars have to be backed off to raise the arm/bumper and remove the brake lines?
thanks

Wayne if you need to remove the bump stops to access the hose connection, do so as follows:
block/chalk the rear tires, e-brake on, trans in Park
jack up the front of the L400 so that the wheels are off the ground and the upper A-arm is resting on the bump stop. This will prevent the bump stop from spinning when you are removing the retaining nut.
Put jack stands under the L400 to secure it
Take a 14mm ratchet wrench and undo the 14mm nut that holds the upper bump stop in place
Raise the jack, remove the jack stands and lower the L400 on the ground. You may have enough space to simply remove the loose bump stop now.
If you don't, start with one side, put a block of wood and jack up at the lower balljoint (bolt/nut) close to the rotor. Jack it up until there is enough room to remove the upper bump stop from between the frame and the A-arm. Lower and repeat on the other side.

Tried as you said but the upper arm wouldn't lift.
I backed off on the torsion bar and jacked up the lower balljoint to raise the bumpstop enough for brake line clearance.
I need to change the upper balljoints as well so...... guess the alignment cost is just part of the job. I'll post the brake line part and the caliper rebuild kit number in the wiki.
