Steering Wheel Rewrap

Post by Mr_2.2 »

Hi everyone, this is my first post here, been lurking for a while.

I'm currently going to school in Michigan (my last semester) and have been driving my 94 L400 around for the past year, put about 20k km in 8 months.

Anyways, my L400 has a pretty sun beat steering wheel with nasty cracking and what not, so I decided to give this a try

I didn't have much expectations but for 10 bucks... It was worth a try, and the results were pretty good.

By no means is it perfect, but I think it was a pretty good job being that it was my first time... installation was pretty straight forward. The L size (they have M and L) was a very SNUG fit to get it even on the wheel, but I believe it was meant to be like that for a good forming fit. To stitch it on, (I've never sewn in my life) I just went every other thread hole until I went around the wheel twice, took a good 2 hours?

But the overall finish was nice, I wish the colour would match better but again, 10 bucks, cant complain for the nice feeling of fake porforated leather :P The steering wheel is much more comfy to grab now.

(sorry for no install pics, i was too busy poking my own fingers with the needle to take any :( )

Here are some pics of my Deli as well (don't mind the stickers :P I LOVE STICKERS)

I'd also like to point out that for the license plate lights, I used a pair of these and worked pretty well
