Random camping around pemberton

Post by sfd_656 »

We will be heading to Pemberton for the Nimby 50 next weekend, any suggestions of either cheap or free camping spots would be greatly appreciated. It is best if they are within SHORT biking distance of the North Arm Farm as after the race I will be a)tired and b) probably slightly tipsy... Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Mosquito lake would be pretty close for you but the best spot is strawberry point on lillouet lake. Ten minutes drive further but one of the best spots around.

Owl creek its not near North arm farm but its cheap.

There are only a couple of spots at Mosquito lake but go check it out.

If you go passed the Owl creek turn off by less than a km. There is a forest service road that has a good swimming spot. You should be able to camp some where along that road. Its a left turn off the main road. Can't remember the name of the road. I haven't lived there since 2005. I use to stay up there in my camper.

Park across from an apartment complex or on a crowded street, as long as no one sees you getting in or out of your van they'll assume you're just visiting a friend who lives in the area. I did something similar 2 night's ago at a lodging area in Yosemite and last night by a gas station in Big Pine (the latter because I left my credit card in the gas station and drove off, and it was closed when I came back) :-D
