So they say there are no stupid questions, so here goes.
I am going to be rotating my tires sometime this week and I got to thinking. I feel like it's almost time for some new shocks, but the back feel a lot more stiff than the front. I can't take the ones in the back and out them in up front, and the front in the back, can I? It seems dumb. So it most likely is. I should change out all four at the same time rather than just the front, right?
I'm 500km away from 260K and all I have to complain about is soft shocks and a crappy stereo. I'm pretty happy.

Re: shocks
You can't swap the back shocks with the front as they are completely different.
Being the cheap bastard I am I have always changed shocks on a per need basis and have never had any problems. Perhaps not best practice but it certainly has worked out for me. So if this was me I'd just change the front shocks and be done with it :)
Good luck.

Re: shocks
New front shocks will make a big difference to the ride and handling, yours will be really tired.
