It's been a while...
Has anyone in the Lower Mainland had a compliment on their rig recently? Apart from friends, family, bus drivers, police and other Delica owners, it's never happened to me ...until today! I had a guy ask me to roll down my window so he could tell me what a great vehicle I have.
Thanks for the compliment!

Re: It's been a while...
I found there is still the odd non-owner who recognises the uniqueness of these vehicles. If they can get past the steering wheel, most are quite impressed - with both the L300 and the Pajero.
If I was to get another JDM as a 'spare' vehicle, it'd be a Pajero Evolution: 1) for the looks, and 2) for the fun!

Hey nxski - it's because the L300 fleet here in the lower mainland is starting to show it's age.
On the other hand, it's not uncommon for me to have to fight my way through crowds to get to my shiny newly imported L400! Sometimes fights break out when people are jockeying to get close to it. Plus, it's really popular with the Ladies.

And sometimes even very yummy mummy's. I will play devils advocate for you and say that they also haul douche bag dudes, but the focus is meant to be on the yummy.yojimbo wrote:Mini vans are great for transporting children.glenn wrote:Plus, it's really popular with the Ladies.

Just the other day, one old rancher dude/cowboy jumped off his truck and said to me "Mitsubishi, bullet proof!" @ our local Husky station. After a little talk, he said that he has the same motor in his Cat.

Re: It's been a while...
With the hitop L300 I have had to resort to employing crowd control...I have 4 staff members that travel with me. Once parked they set out velvet ropes around the Delica. They also hand out 8X10 glossy photos of my Delica.
Driving is more of a challenge. In more populated areas the police typically request to escort me. Without the escort I have watched multiple drivers pull along side and only watching the Delica they end up in the ditch. I sometimes feel so bad for the traffic congestion and accidents I drive the Aerostar. Sometimes I drive the Aerostar just to feel like an average Joe (no offense to any Joe's). I also like to drive on the left sometimes just to remember that feeling of taking chances and risks.
At the end of the day it is a lot of work driving a Hitop L300 and wish I had something more common like a regular L300 with 5 cargo boxes on the roof....

I understand the Ford Windstar gives one a pretty happy feeling. Definitely good for getting in and out of those tricky muddy car parks at the soccer pitch. Lot's of space for your gear, toothedjjack wrote:... Sometimes I drive the Aerostar just to feel like an average Joe ....

Re: It's been a while...
I was thinking the exact opposite:
"wow, that is a really ugly looking L400, oh wait, it's a ford."
Believe me, I love the looks of the L300, but at least I don't have to worry about this anymore:
