I had the dual batteries out and upon re-installing I have power to everything but will not start. No click from the solenoid or turnover. Fusible links have no resistance so i assume they are OK. Not sure where else to look: anyone have any ideas?
There are a few small wires with connectors that come of the hot side - not sure what they control. Possibly mixed up upon reconnection?
Thanks

Hi, When you say fusible links have no resistance are you suggesting the meter says OL. If this is the case its open and needs replacing. Check for continuity through it by rotating to the audible diode check and try again. Placing the leads together should show continuity and an audible beep, then try again at the fusible link. no beep or OL, time to replace.

To be a pedant no resistance=continuity, open circuit would mean infinite resistance, but I do have a beer in hand, and a keyboard in the other :D

by "no resistance" I did mean there was continuity.
Just to reinforce my belief that electricity is mostly magic, after taking everything apart and reinstalling... again... it decided to work.
Thanks for the replies: now it's my turn get a beer in hand!
Cheers - Graeme

Re: Help needed - electrical no start
I replaced my dual batters on my L300 a couple months ago myself. You have to make sure to connect all the ancillary wires on top of the batteries and make sure they aren't crossing, touching, short circuiting themselves.
the first time I put everything together I went to start and I had a first glow plug click...but then not a second. Tried around 5 times and then went back and completely reinstalled from the ground up. Turns out if was one of the small ancillary lines that runs out the back of the battery tray. I guess it connects to the glow plugs somehow. Basically there the wires connect by two plastic pieces that "snap" together. Plastic was white. I missed connecting these the first time and because I didn't connect these the glow plugs would not click the second time to turn off.
this is difference from your problem where you are getting nothing.
A couple weeks later I went to start and got the same problem, glow plugs click once, but then don't click as second time (presuming the are not turning off). I simply went over to the dual batteries and jiggled all the ancillary wires on top and then I got two clicks and it started no problem. Because of this second issues I think you might run into problems if the wires touch each other so you need to snap a picture (mental or camera - too late for you!) before you take them apart and then make sure to connect everything up and run the wires nice and clean.
good luck!

Re: Help needed - electrical no start
There are two identical looking 4 inch long ''extension'' cords with white plastic plugs ,coming from the positive post of the battery ,on the right side of the battery box.I suspect they are fusible links. One of them is the power supply to the starter motor circuit ,make sure these two are connected and that the connectors are not burnt out. I've seen this happen many times before.Cheers Jay Tardis Delii o by the way the technical word is ''electrickery''
