L300 front carpet

Post by Rattlenbang »

I have this front carpet for an L300. Mine was junk but decided to replace it with vinyl instead of this carpet I bought for it. It's in great condition. $70.00. Now's your chance to replace that rotten and stained front carpet. If you have the cooler you'll have to trim it a bit as this one came out of a van without one.

I'm not sure you'll get any money for that one. I can't even give mine away (I guess because so many replace the carpets with rubber).

Interesting; so many people talk about leaks and pulpy carpets. Oh well, if not I might reinstall it if and when I sell the van.

True, and one of the ways to keep them dry is to install rubber flooring. I did this because, despite all my repair attempts, I still have some leakage. Also, I took my carpet out and let it dry for a couple weeks and it's good as new (ie. no need to get a new carpet). Sorry to be a bit of a downer.

Sorry Rattlenbang: nxski- where could I get that rubber? Is it fitted or just buy some stock and cut your own?

Costco has rolls. I was just given 3' rubber tiles by Beatty Floors since they had some scraps lying around.

If you're unable to stop a leak into the cab of your vehicle, a solution that has worked a treat for me a few times is to drill a tiny hole in the floor at the lowest point. Water drains out and everyone is dry and happy :)

I used vinyl deck material; very tough and thick and looks good!

How easy is the vinyl decking to remove ~ say if you want to check your A/C glass ~ can you roll it away like the carpet?

On the passenger floor, under the carpet, is a glass. This glass is for establishing how full your A/C system is. There is a reference to it in the owner's manual. There is a translation of the owner's manual out of New Zealand that can be bought on line (I think you know this). This glass is roughly under where your right foot is located when sitting in the passenger's seat.

By the way, I like how your decking looks, it has style.
