Trailer Hitches

Post by RadarGrrl »

Graham at CCA mentioned a place in Vancouver that has trailer hitches for L400. Does anyone know the name and address of it? It seems I'll be in Vancouver this weekend, and I want to bring one back for my new van for Graham to put on her.

He's probably talking about E&H Hitch in Burnaby.

That sounds famil. We're going to be in Burnaby this Saturday. I hope it's close to where we are. I don't know Vancouver at all.

...and, despite the fact that it is mere blocks from where we're going to be, it doesn't matter. They're closed Saturdays.

Unfortunately, that is the case for everywhere that I know of where you can get L400 hitches.

Are you aware of anywhere on the Island where one can get a L400 hitch?

CCA or Rocky Mountain would be the only places that might, and it sounds like you ruled out CCA. You could always phone E&H about having one shipped to you... If it's sent by Greyhound, it wouldn't be too expensive.

CCA was the place that put me onto E&H. The Greyhound solution might be the best one. I'd have it shipped right to CCA.

Well now...this is interesting. There are two firms (at least) called 'E&H Hitch'...

...so which is it?

There is a place in Campbell River - CR Springs - that will fab you one and install it. I'm sure there must be similar shops in Courtney too... Good luck.
Btw, I ran into your partner in Courtney yesterday - He's as keen as you about your new bus. Happy day!

She, actually...Katherine.

She mentioned she'd run into someone with a Deli, and I was wondering who. We saw no fewer than five of them yesterday, including three at once at the Superstore.

Does CR Springs have a web presence?

Hmmm, not sure if they are on the web or not... seems unlikely, though they do have a phone. I didn't get my hitch from them btw, though I have heard good things about them and they have been in town for many years, so must be doing something right. And if you and Katherine motor up here for that or anything thing else, feel free to call us and pop in for a visit.
Arre you two ticking the days off on the calendar...?

We would, if we had a definite date for it. It's more important to us that Graham and his boys do a proper refurb on the Dalek.

I am very sure we'll be in your area at some point. K wants to take me to Quadra.

I called CR Springs, and, unfortunately, they won't touch it. So it'll be up to E&H Hitch, (the one in Burnaby), however they do it. They want $400 to install one on a L400. Not sure if that includes wiring. But at least they keep them in stock. I guess I'll be making a day trip to the mainland at some point.

That won't include wiring. I paid $475 for a 3 receiver hitch. because each L300 frame is slightly different, they have to weld them on the spot and it took 2 guys 8 hours to install mine, so I'd say it was a good deal. The only downside to E&H hitches are that they don't sandblast before painting, so they start rusting quite quickly.
