Strength of L400 Gutter System

Post by infiniteConstructor »

Good Day,

I wish to make sure I am understanding what I am looking at when analyzing my gutters. I was given some Thule legs of adequate length to clear my Crystal Lite roof. They look like http://www.roadracks.com/ProductDetails ... ductID=211 as well as http://www.roofracks.co.uk/Thule-Produc ... h2Voxtwp8F

I notice that the gutter at the roof to side fold is, in fact, a flat crimp going down the side with the vertical part being only a stuck on fascia. In a manual I downloaded somewhere (Mitsubishi105.pdf) I see it also speaks of the non structural nature of this roof fold.

What has people's experience been with these flat gutters? My specific concern is that something might jiggle off sideways.

The only object I wish to attach now is a stand up paddle board. Though this would be great knowledge to have for future planning on larger items like carriers.

Thanks,
/A
