Neoprene insulation.

Post by Mr. Flibble »

I was looking at fexlboi's page on the Dino Evo regarding insulating the L300:

http://dinoevo.de/2011/06/insulation/

Being a kayaker, I have lots of experience with Neoprene, and I was able to find it for cheap from Alibaba (if I can just figure out the shipping nightmare from China...)

I was wondering if anyone had done this with the L400?

Should combine well with something like an Espar D5....

I've been thinking of doing the same thing for the longest time now. My 300 definitely is not well insulated.

I used those colourful floor tiles that puzzle together...

closed cell foam and I got them for under $1.00 each of craigslist..

No idea the R-value but when you put a heater up to the one side you cannot feel the heat on the other side...

I am thinking about building a bulkhead that closes off the cab in the winter time, so there is less space for me to heat, if i make it out of that hard pink foam insulation board i can carve it to the shape i want. unfortunately i should have done this in the summer as its now -40 and too cold for me to care about doing anything to the van haha
