Hi,
I`ve got an L300 and I`m looking to put on new winter tires. I`m out in Rocky Mountain House, AB....
I took her into Canadian Tire, but they told me that they don`t have any tires that will fit. I didn`t realize that my tire sizes were ``foreign``, (their words).
Right now I have on
30X9.5OR15LT

Never heard that one before... Any properly stocked tire store should have a number of choices for you.

235X75X15R little smaller very common

30X9.5X15R less common still easy to find

31X10.5X15R getting a little big for a stock L300 without mods and cuts....

Go there with a specific tire size in mind 'cause they feel they need to use a computer everytime to search for anything. They try to input a Delica and the computer pukes.

Just searched the Rocky Cdn Tire for my tires, 225/75r15, and they have them in stock...

If you look in your driver's side door jamb there is likely a decal that has the tyre size as 215SR15. When I first purchased my Starwagon I went to my tyre supply guy who told me that he didn't understand that code, which is what I should expect for buying a foreign vehicle, that I should've been more "patriotic" and bought an American made vehicle. At which point I told him that neither was I American nor in the States. Had he left the latter comment out I would have taken his word as gospel and not checked up on that number, but he didn't, so I did. "S" stands for "Standard" and it's an universal term that is apparently even recognised in North America and refers to 82: 215/82R15. So... the 215 (mm) represents the tyre track width; 82 (% of track) represents the sidewall and R15 is the rim diameter in inches. Ergo: 215 X 0.82 = 176.3 divided by 25.4 (one inch) = 6.94 inches; times two, plus the fifteen inch rim and we have a 28.88" diameter.

Next: 235/75R15. 235 X 75% = 176.25/25.4 = 6.93" times two, plus fifteen inches and we have a 28.87" diameter.

28.88" times pi (3.14159) = 90.72912 inch circumference.
28.87" times pi (3.14159) = 90.6977 inch circumference.

According to the internet (because I can't be bothered to figure this out) there are 39,370.1 inches in a kilometre. 39,370.1 X 100km = 3,937,010 inches in 100 kilometres.

3,937,010/ 90.72912 = 43,393 wheel revolutions for every hundred kilometres (215SR15s).
3,937,010/ 90.6977 = 43,408 wheel revolutions for every hundred kliks (235/75R15s)

That's roughly a 113+ foot circumference difference between the 215SR15 and the 235/75R15 tyres over one hundred kilometres, by my reckoning. Not much difference.

The long and short of this is if you purchase 235/75R15s ~ you pretty much have stock tyres.

I'd suggest you spend your money somewhere else, keep the receipt, go see the manager at the Canadian Tire store and explain to him your situation. Explain how you came to the Canadian Tire store with a $1000.00 in your pocket but you were turned away because his staff felt themselves to be above your Japanese import so you gave your money to the other guy, who was cheerfully helpful and provided great service. Then tell him/her that you've posted this experience in your van club website that has 7,201 members.

I was wondering if the 30X9.5X15 will fit a stock height Delica? I have stock tires on my van now, but I want something a little larger than stock. Also has anyone used BFG tires on a Delica?

Yes, the 30's fit.

I had them on my L300 with no mods
I used AT3 coopers.
