Michelin 4x4 O/R XZL tires

I've seen these Michelin 4x4 O/R XZL tires on a Land Rover while in Australia and they looked awesome (and mean)! The one I've seen were 7.5R16C, very tall and narrow. They make them as a 215/80R15 as well but I really don't think they are available here in Canada.

Anyone knows if I could find similar tires for the Delica even if it means changing to a 16" rim? The 235/75R15 seems to be what most people go with but I'd love to find something as tall but narrower.

The picture doesn't really do justice to the real thing but you get the idea.

Might be answering my own question but after searching what else is out there, I came across the following tires:

Yokohama Y7425S with size 7.00R15 which makes them 29.8" tall by 7.7" wide compared to a 235/75R15 at 29.1" tall by 9.1" wide. They weigh 36lbs and go for about $115 US (a bit pricey). I haven't found out yet if they can be bought here in Canada but it's still a short trip to the States if needed. They look like a really good offroad/winter candidate...

Is there pros/cons with this type of tires?

Hi Delicat, Before you buy tires in the usa, check more info on this website. I recall the tires are another thing like the lights which must be DOT Canada Department of Transport approved. If you look at the tires, need to see a canadian approval embedded in the rubber (all those numbers and symbols that are part of the tire sidewall). Not every tire sold in the usa or japan bothers to pay for the Canadian testing / approval process for every line of tire, only the tire models they plan to market in Canada. no worries on that one, US tires are fine as they are DOT approved, it's the japanese tires that are the issue, they don't have a DOT approval on them.

BC has now stated that any tire is acceptable as long as the load rating is stamped on the sidewall, even if the tire is not DOT stamped (but again, many Japanese tires don't have that information stamped on them)
