Delica Parts in US

I've been ordering some parts for my '87 P25W from a Mit dealer here in Seattle(Harris Mitsubishi). The parts guy has been very helpful and while I was there one day, he was ordering parts for a JDM Pajero. He has all the Mit parts catalogs including JDM vehicles. I noted that some of the parts coming to me, were warehoused in Los Angeles. I asked if these were coming from NOS Vanwagon parts as the Delica had never been brought into the US. Apparently, it is a global issue and one that may be an advantage to Delica owners here in NA. Mitsubishi had projected up to app. 180,000 vehicles sales a year when it entered into the US, or shortly after. So they built infrastructure to support those, including a massive warehouse complex in California. But sales last year were something in the order of 60,000. So with a huge warehouse sitting mostly empty, Mitsubishi sent many of their spares to California. I don't have a way to independently confirm this, but in a somewhat twisted 21st century way, this makes sense. And I have Delica l300 parts coming from the US, a place that never had the vehicle.
