Windshield washer tank

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Windshield washer tank

Post by philmeup1 »

Hey there peeps,,

I'm sure this question will be easily answered but it's something I've not been able to figure out since purchasing my '93 Delica almost 2 years ago......

I've read on here that you can pull the windshield washer tank out from under the dash to easily fill it up. Well I've tried to pull mine out but couldn't get it to budge.... I thought if I reefed on it any harder, I might break something...

I don't want to do that. So the question is,, how do I get it out from where it is?? I've been filling it precariously spilling shit everywhere. So I figured it's time to do something about it....

The knowledge is always appreciated. Especially from someone as un knowledgable as me.... :-D

Sounds strange,
Should come out directly at a 90° angle when pulled. The plastic container has an indented groove on one side that slides on a metal bracket.
Good luck

Thanks Bosc,,

I wasn't exactly sure how it came out but that makes sense. I'll try it again today & see what happens. After seeing a few photos on here I thought I was missing something integral to filling it up. Turns out I was looking at the safety flares that came with these from new. Mine are missing...

Stay tuned 8-)

Thanks Falco,,

That's a good post. I pulled on it and it popped right out. It actually came right off the bracket but everything stayed intact. I filled the bottle up and slid it back in place. Job done 8-)

Cheers, Phil

in the link that you posted, there's an orange thingamabob…. I don't have one on my vehicle and it's hard to tell what that is. Could someone fill me in ( :o oh, the puns…) on what that is for? Thanks.

Road flare, most JDM vehicles have it stock.

I remember first coming across the situation, worried that I'd break something if I reefed on it too much. Then I took a chance and put the extra force on it, cringing all the while... and.... it came out. Kind of a disappointment, really?

As TMS has noted, a road flare. I have one, 'though I have no clue if it still works, a little out of date. I was cruising around with DeliCat one day, around Sardis, up the Chilliwack River and we came across a quarry that was littered with spent shotgun shells, &c., plus a spent flare from a Starwagon... :? Maybe it was your's. I've heard that there are replacement flares available but that was in casual passing and not so high on the to do list, so I didn't note where from.

Falco.
