My Photos so far.

Post by Adrock »

I've only got a few pictures of my Delica so far, but I figured I would share them. I justgot a new digital camera at christmas so expect a lot more to come. I also installed a surco roof basket which is not seen in any of these...

I will also be making a trip down the baja, which will surely yield some amazing photos. But here is what I have now...

Sweet photos and a VERY tidy looking motor! :D :D

Looking forward to seeing some of it on the Baja trip....

You probably got it like that, but just for info....you have a VERY unusal mod to your bull bar! 8)

Someone has grafted a set of L400 bull bar outer hoops to your 'A' bar! I'm not too sure how it has been done, but I've never seen it before and would say you have a fairly unique mod there! 8) 8)

It looks like the lower part isn't fixed to the 'A' bar? If this is the case, you might want to look at fixing it more securely somehow otherwise it might just bend or come off at the slightest knock because it is only held on at the top! I might be wrong, but worth considering??

I hope you have a LOT more fun in it?? (I'm KNOW you will!  )

Regards,

Bruce.

P.S. LOVE the white alloys - another nice touch. 8)

Thanks bruce. I had no idea the look was so unique. the bottom is held by a small piece (1.5cm by 4cm ish) of steel plate screwed into each part. It doesn't look very strong, but I haven't a clue how to make it stronger.

I have always liked the look of the white alloys ( when it is clean at least) right now I am in the interior of BC, which means dirty snow and sand and salt, so there is not much of a clean vehicle to be seen. I certainly will have a lot more fun now that she is fixed up with new batteries and oil pan heater. The temperatures don't seem too bad. I can't wait to update everyone on the mexico trip. Kick off is mid April, the 15th most likely, then it is on to the Coachella valley music festival Apr 27,28, 29 and then down the baja for as long as my friend and I can afford. At least a month and a half.

you notice the dent in the side? I was told it could not be fixed without removing the side decals, i guess it would be hard without physically seeing the vehicle, but if anyone has a fix that does not involve removing chamonix (emily's last name) from the side it would be nice to hear.

by the way her full name is Emily Baby Duck Chamonix. It can be explained later if necessary.

Adam.

I got the roof basket at North Shore off road. 45 by 60 inch. It came to $400. give or take 5 bucks i can't remember exactly. took me about an hour to install on my own. Would have been much faster with someone helping me lift and measure how far out the mounts had to be. It was a whole lot of trial and error haha.

I'd be interested in seeing pictures with the roof basket as I'm looking to do something along those lines myself... of course mine is a crystal-lite roof, so it may require some different mounting...

I toko around 80 pictures today playing in the snow, but I can't put them on this computer, i'll get some up tomorrow or thursday.

The basket mounts to the rain gutters, I think all the vans should have them no? There are high rise ones for when there is a large distance between the gutter and the top of the roof.

regarding the dent on the side of the vehicle, you could talk to one of the paint-less dent repair places, but from what I can see in the picture it looks like it's pretty well creased, so I suspect they won't be able to help much with it... looks like your choice is going to be either loose the decals to get a proper paint job, or live with it not being quite right...

as a semi-proper solution you may be able to get in behind it from the interior of the vehicle and push the dent out, however the paint will still show the damage after that.

Yeah, I have been living with it since I got it, and although it is big its not super noticable. Most people don't see it until I point it out. I'll see if I can push it out a bit on of these days.

Alright here come the snowy pictures... sorry some are a bit grainy, I guess a 10mp camera hs its disadvantages after all. Its hard to compress them properly.

First, a look at the "chains" that came with the chamonix edition. They were pretty neat, but the tire slipped inside the chain a bit. However I don't actually know if I even put them on correctly.

haha thanks. It was just a quick joke that has stuck around. I don't have the heart to remove it now its been months. Although it is not in the best shape after the 1000k I put on my beast today.

Once I get the CB antennas mounted there will be some real flag poles. I may just go the orange route though, I don't know if everyone takes kindly to pirates.

anybody else throw a CB in their rig yet? I'm looking to get a new cd/mp3 deck and drop the CB underneath it.

There is plenty of room to put the radio if I dont get a new deck, but I'm thinking iPod compatible is going to be my next step so its goodbye japanese stereo.

I kept my stock japanese deck (less for someone to steal) and got an fm transmitter for the ipod. It works great and left me with money to upgrade the speakers. I gotta get a CB soon also.

Hey - that's not fair!!

Why do you get all the nice snow to play in!! :( :( :(

Seriously though - cracking pictures and enough to make me REALLY want to move to Canada now! :D :D

Scenery nothing short of breathtaking and the kind of weather I can only dream of over here in VERY wet & VERY windy UK! :?

You guys really know how to convince someone to just sell up and move to another continent....the only problem is that it looks like I'll have to wait until 2018 if I wanted to bring the Mystery Machine!  (unless I could hide it in my suitcase and hope they don't notice?? )

Lovely photos Adrock - great car, fantastic place, perfect combination!

Regards for now from a very envious Deli owner,

Bruce.
