Delica manuals

Post by Delicabeau »

I am a NEW owner of a L400 1997. I am accustomed to shifting on the fly with me Jeep Wrangler. Since all the manuals are in Japanese I am wondering what procedure I should follow when shifting to four wheel and low ? Also ,... is there anywhere on this site to help explain the use of the Kenwood radio that came with my Delica ? I am trying to make it work hands free with my phone ?

The radio you'll have to check the Kenwood site.

For the 4x4, google how the Mitsubishi Super-Select system works to give you an overview. The search function via the site is not always the best.

On the shifter you'll see 2Hi, 4Hi, 4HiLc and 4LoLc. Think of 4Hi as all-wheel drive, like a subaru or an AWD Astro van. You can shift into 4Hi on the fly, I believe the max speed is something like 90km/hr but I try and keep it below 50 and in a straight line. You can use 4Hi on mixed surfaces (icy roads or dirt) or even dry pavement.

The Lc is Locked Centre differential. This gives you proper 4x4 high and low like what you would have had on your jeep.

Not all manuals are in Japanese. Go to Delica Canada Technical, L400 Dedicated Category Reference Forum, look in there.
