MardyDelica who's on this forum is located in Richmond and could help you out for sure. He's known to do good work. There's also Maximum Overdrive at the North end of #3 Rd in front of Cdn Tire who sells/service Delicas. They have their web page and are also on this site. Hope this helps. If you have a hard time to locate/contact MardyDelica I might be able to find his ph.# for you.

Overheating while climbing hills is most likely a rad/plugged cooling system problem. Replace the t-stat by all means since it is cheap and easy and a good idea for such an old vehicle, but also remove the rad cap and look at the cooling tubes inside (not sure if you can on these or not, dont remember off hand) and see if they are plugged or not.

The Best garage in Richmond is... Well the name escapes me but it is the garage that both Mardy and MOD takes their vans. Here is the phone number 604 246 0500. The y have their own machine shop and are super FRIENDLY and good rates as well.

as long as the coolant in the radiator is a bit low you can certainly see the tubes, mine were quite clogged and led to a cracked head after overheating... don't let it happen to you!
