Installed Coombs HD rear coils.

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

Installed Coombs HD rear coils.

Post by macro »

Lifted the van a couple years ago and put in coil spacers and the blue HD coils, noticed late last year that I was getting a lot of sag out of the rear so a few weeks ago I finally ordered some of CCA's new custom made L400 rear coils.

You can immediately feel the difference between them. The new ones feel a couple pounds heavier each, they're quite obviously made from a heavier gauge steel.

I pulled out the old coils and the spacers, put the new coils in and it sits as it should for a 2" lift. I'll drive it for awhile and see if they settle at all, I'm not sure if a 1" spacer may be required in the future but a 2" would make it look like a hot rod.

I've put about 50km on them so far and difference is night and day. I did't realize how much body roll I was getting, and the rear was squatting under acceleration quite a bit. No more however!

Cool! Didn't know CCA had custom coils. Let us know how they perform. Does the van lean less than normal?

Yep, way less body roll. I need new rear sway bar links too so once those are in it should be great.

Do you think they need be painted. Looks like they might rust up pretty quick.

I thought about that after I put them in, damn. I might take a brush with some Rust Check to them. I should've got them powder coated lime green or something. Red maybe. So it goes faster.

Looks nice. I'm looking to change mine out but could only find the blue ones on their website. Do you have the part number off hand?

Or are these blue ones the same just now painted?

Maybe they haven't updated the site. The blue ones are the ones I replaced. Email or give them a shout. They're fantastic so far. Biggest improvement in ride I've done in a long time.
