Wiring around battery

I took out my battery today to change my fuel filter for the first time (success!), and while putting it back I noticed that there are a bunch of small wires just kind of hanging around the battery, including what I believe is an ignition module just kind of dangling underneath the intercooler. I'm wondering if that's normal, or if there's some kind of way it should be harnessed or tucked away.

Can anyone post a pic of what the wiring around their battery looks like, or give me an idea if my wiring needs to be reined in? Mostly concerned about having it sitting against something hot and having the insulation melt.
