Is it possible to change the mid row seats from the 3 person bench to the 2 captain chairs?
I know the captains chairs slide on rails, and mount differently from the bench, but does the mounting unbolt from the floor of the van, or is it built into the floor?
I found a van that I'd like to buy, but it has the 8 passenger configuration, and I need to have the 7 seater configuration for fitting motorcycles in the van.

Yes, you'll need the following and be prepared for some work, including welding:
1/ a single captain's seat complete with it's 2 floor runners
2/ your carpet and sound insulation will need to be pulled back/removed to mark out the position of the new floor runners
3/ you'll have to drill new floor bolt holes to mount the floor runners and ensure the bolt holes are reinforced with a welded plate or similar as mounting to just the thin floor is unsafe and probably illegal! CAUTION - before drilling thru the floor check what's underneath first!! You might be able to utilise one or two existing bolt holes from the bench seat but your single captain chair might be in the wrong position.
4/ to make a neat job use a trimming knife to cut your sound insulation and carpet around the newly installed floor runners.
