alternator fuse melted questions\advice

I'll give a bit of history Maybe something in there might give a reason for my alternator fuse to have melted.
1996 delica 400 space gear gas pd6w. I'm also confused on which replacement fuse box I need.
History:
Nov I noticed my headlight wasn't working and discovered the daytime running unit had melted at the fuse. I took it off and lights worked. No issues.
Feb 4 2016 Left lights on overnight. Booster cables were a cheap shit set and couldn't reach to ground so connected on all posts. With other car off it would not turn over. Started the other car and it boosted after a few minutes. Did this melt it? Seemed fine.
Feb 20
Battery light went on. Radio and heater cut in and out. Checked connections and alt belt. Both fine. Checked battery was low so charged and discovered fuse melt.
My buddy, Charles Black is going to show me how to check if the alternator is the fault and or dead. He is convinced it was not my idiot boost and might be a loose ground.
