Oil Collecting in Head Bolt Recesses

Post by ynwa »

Hey, strange, I could have sworn I already posted this, yet can't find once I return. Maybe I 'replied' to something. Oh, right, that's it.

Anyway, I'm noticing oil collecting in the allen key recess of a couple head bolts. From the set outside of the rocker cover. How could this be? It's dark oil, so it's not over pour. Are there weep holes in the head bolts? This is a real head scratcher. Pics to come.

Thanks!!

Hah! I had the same thing, except for the front two bolts which were always freakishly dry and rusted instantly. It stopped when I changed the rocker cover gasket but there were no obvious major leaks, and I have no idea how the oil managed to jump into the bolt head recesses either.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.
