Hello there,
I have yet to get to the bottom of this mystery, I hope someone out there can help.
I let my 94 L400 sit for a couple months (nothing wrong when I left it) and when I returned and started it up my Super Select 4wD lights were flashing differently. Normally on start up all flour wheel flash, then only the rear wheel lights stay on, solid green. This time there was no rear wheel lights, and my C/D lock light (the yellow one) was flashing. I ran it through all the modes and while the green front wheel drive lights worked, the rear ones did not work and the yellow light would only flash. C/D light would not engage. Not only would it not engage, but it will not stop flashing while in 2WD.
So the yelloew light is flashing and the rear green lights are out completely.
Any ideas? Does anyone have technical support info for the vacume system that runs these systems? A way to test the system for faulty parts? I seem to have good pressure in the vacume.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's a fairly common problem, the switches which tell the display what to do get stuck. It's alleged to be an easy repair:

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

This one's probably the most useful:
