Howdy,
So I got my model number, it is P35 ()3()5467
but I could not find it on this list.
http://www.cars-directory.net/specs/mit ... ca/1991_8/
In fact, it isn't even close to anything on the list.
Any insite?
Thanks in advance,
Kelsey

Re: Decoding the model number
Two reasons that's not working is; that number looks like the # just inside the door under the plastic and that web pages is for the 91 model year. The numbers on the list are from the plate with the model # below the little flap of carpet right below (and centered) the drivers seat.

Re: Decoding the model number
only partially correct, that page is for vehicles manufactured after august 1991 and up until may 1994, so he was on the right page. the problem is as you pointed out, he needs the number from the VIN plate (not the VIN number)and that web pages is for the 91 model year.

Re: Decoding the model number
The number on the VIN plate will look like "Q-P35W HSRGT" - which says that Gumdrop is a Super Exceed with a crystal lite roof. There are other codes there for engine (4D56 for a turbo diesel), transmission (mine says "V4AW2 4875" - sounds like a final drive ratio), colour and options.

Right on!
Thanks for the replies guys!
Now I just to figure out how to take out my seat!!
hehe
I thought that would be too easy, having the number right under a little plastic plate......

No need to take your seat out! Right behind where your legs are while seated in the drivers side, you will find a little piece of square carpet that flips up exposing your "vin" plate.

I think you misinterpret what we mean by "below the seat"Now I just to figure out how to take out my seat!!
sit in the seat as you normally would, and somewhere around mid-calf level, and centred between your legs you will find a flap in the carpet that lifts to reveal the VIN plate.
No dis-assembly required.
