Fuel leak from Injector pump
I've tracked a fuel leak to here:
Would there be an easy fix like a replaceable seal or gasket behind this bolt or am I looking at a rebuild situation?My dad used to say,"If you can read, you can do anything!"

Fuel leak from Injector pump
From the dirt, it looks like it's leaking from the timing port blanking plug- the little bolt in the middle. There should be a copper washer under the bolt head to seal it, but copper washers can get hard and stop sealing (especially if they've been used a few times).
I'd try replacing the copper washer with a new one and see if that fixes it.
If it's leaking from the larger plug, you can buy a VE pump rebuild kit and replace the O-ring, but finding the special 3-sided socket might be tricky.

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

From what I observed while the engine was running it is the larger one. I’ll modify a socket to work....somehow...a challenge!!!

Yup, a large 6-sided socket, then grind out the 3 sides you don't need. But check on Ebay first, it might...

So, after doing some reading and looking at the diagrams
Is this foolish or am I being prudent?

I was thinking to just replace what seals I can without actually removing the pump from the engine.Is this foolish or am I being prudent?

Sounds like a plan. I advise against removing the pump head (the steel block on the back that your leaking plug is screwed into, to replace seal #2). It's a pain to reinstall with the pump on the workbench, I wouldn't want to do it with the pump bolted to the engine.

Fuel leak from Injector pump
Easy as pie. (with the great advice from GB) Got the special sockets, disconnected the two upper injector lines to gain access, the big plug came out easily. Replaced o-ring #9 (the old one was very hard and flat). Put everything back together and bled the injector lines (all of them just to be sure) and it fired right up.
I noticed a coolant leak from the rad hose so tightened that hose clamp.
Drove to work today and this evening all is dry: no fuel leak, no coolant leak. (BONUS: last Saturday it started no problem at -15C without plugging it in
)
