Alright guys its been about a year...
It was around this time the idea started growing beyond control to have a meet. So I believe it is time again. West coast meet (obviously everyone is welcome, but this will be the general area for this meet) I have absolutely no problem with doing harrison again, that was great, but if anyone has a better or new idea I'd love to hear it. Keeping with previous tradition, anyone against the last weekend in March? 28, 29, 30?
Here are the questions we need answered
Date: March 28-30
April 4-6
April 11-13?
Any suggestions welcome, I really enjoyed being out this time of year though.
Location: Harrison FSR Loop (Just like last year)
Somewhere around hope?
Somewhere on the island (I like this idea, aside from friday afternoon ferry traffic)
Northly (Beyond Pemberton)
Attendance: I'll go alone, come if you want.
Activities: Some mildly aggressive driving, (always an easy way for any polished delicas)
Fishing
Swimming
Hot Springs
The occasional beverage
Cutting down trees with chainsaws
Sitting around fires
Awesome outdoor pot luck style meal (great success from last time, in my opinion)
What we need: Places to go, places to stop, places to sleep, people to do it.
Throw the ideas out, and once something worthwhile materializes it will be taken down to the best few options for a vote, or the best option will be picked.
P.S., I am one paycheck away from paying my debts, (except my student loan, but that doesnt count) after that its all going into the frybrid kit I am hoping.

Hello Adam, you can count me in, the March 29-30 weekend sounds good. Glad to hear the apprenticeship is going well, trades are so in demand right now.
Wouldn't mind doing the Harrison FSR Loop again, just this year we have an arranged spot for the Weaver lake gate key. A trip to Northern Vancouver would be nice, but would require more time; thinking San Jo Bay and Cape Scott area.
I can bring food (pot luck), fishing gear, tents, WVO for the fire, chairs, tarps....
Regards,
Kevin

Hi, i would say we can do it in vancouver,so people here in the lower mainland will know that there are delica owner community here that like this delica so much , as there personal vehicle & a family vehicle.
Just to show that we have a strong community for this RHD delica vehicle.
Maybe it will boost up more to own many delica here in B.C. & rest of canada.
it will nice if we all can bring our deli maybe all member show up, i think we got lots now maybe nearly 400 delica or more.
do little barbecue, pot-luck & other gift complementary like for a delica car show, some thing like.
again this is just my ipinion;
its nice to get together to see delica with different design & upgrade they did on there delica, it will be fun

The best way is to meet up somewhere around town in the morning. Then if people interested, then go out on a 4 wheeling trip afterward. Harrison West at 20 Mile Bay has a hugh area that people can sit down and chill out by a fire. Further down the road there is Kirkland Creek as well. A outdoor pot luck style dinner will be cool. Driving out Harrison at night is cool too. Did that million times.

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
I talked to mardy about a meet on a saturday and I like that idea too. Somewhere in town to see people, get to know some faces, eat some food and check out a large turnout of vehicles. However that is a separate idea from what I am trying to accomplish here. If someone would like me to get that started too i will, but I'd like to keep this for getting the multi day trek going.
IF we could keep the ideas to this meet that would be great. If someone else wants to step up and organize a saturday great, if not I'll get it going when I have more ideas for it.
Sounds like harrison on that first weekend, just because no one else has chimed in.
Express your ideas now or we will use ours.

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
Should we start a new mini-post for a mini-meet of the Vancouver folks?
My take would be to meet at Spanish Banks parking lot closest to UBC. The parkings are readily available and large enough for all local Delicas and this site is often used by other auto club for gathering.
So that's for me, Spanish Banks on a weekend... as long as it's just a gathering to B.S., compare rides and get to know each others 'cause for the off-roading scene, better to keep it for Harrison. UBC is kinda out of the way to get the Delicas dirty!

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
i guess, its better to rent a private parking space for delica meet. iether in UBC or in Vancouver near heli-jet, i dont mind to pay even $10 for parking without any hassle or get ticketed. its a one time one year meeting so i dont mind.
hope all of us could meet & enjoy meeting each other.
i think adrock Or mark could do this meet. i hope so.

Hi Mardy,
No problem with the Spanish Banks parking lot, it's free parking and we won't get in trouble, promise! As I said before, auto club and other car enthusiastics regularly use it without problem. Even less problem if it's not during peak season...
They also have BBQ Pits for all your Phillippinos appetizers...Yummy!

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
Just backspaced a few pages to get back here, was about to start two threads; one for the Vancouver Day meet and the March/April camping trip. Will do, but no hurry - and I can't complain about thread hijacks cause I may be one of the guiltiest of that crime.
A well attended meet and greet sounds like a great idea, but not many out of towner's would make it. But a multi day trip, with so much to do, would be worth the drive down. Keep wondering if the Northern Delica contingent will make it out, and of course plenty of Islanders this time too. The idea last year, had the bonus of the close to Vancouver camp ground for the first night, allowed the pristine and shiny Delicas to join us. The fact that FannyBayDelica showed the first night, and others, was excellent.
Should invite the ex-owners who made last year, Mitch and Zach, also.

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
Thanks for the encouragement Mardy!
I can any day-meet in late March (I'd need to serve as someone's copilot, as I haven't saved up enough for my van yet!)
Camping will be difficult for me because I'm expecting a baby in the beginning of April ("Sorry to have missed the birth dear, but the Deli-meet was spectacular!")

Re: Alright guys its been about a year...
I can do a saturday day meet just about any saturday and would show up for sure.
I love the harrison area and a group delica adventure is way too fun to pass up, count me in for sure. The rear 1/4 of my delica is stuffed full of camping gear (and 4x4 recovery gear) year round so I'll bring plenty of supplies.
