Trade: My 1998 mercedes slk 230 for your delica + cash

Post by Costa »

Ok I know this is a very long shot but I might aswell see if anyone near Vancouver BC wants to trade since I am going to be selling this car to purchase a delica.

It's a grey 1998 mercedes SLK 230 supercharged hardtop convertible with about 110,000 km. Perfect mechanical running shape, cosmetically it is good never kept in the rain but it shows the typical wear that these cars have a problem with inside (paint rubbing off near handbrake and around door handle), not showroom like some people keep their mercs, but they probably won't trade it for a delica either. I paid 38,000$ in early 2002, and I was offered 16,000$ for it as is by a mitsubishi dealership when I was looking at new SUV's (which imo are all inferior to the delica imo). This was a valuable lesson to me in how to waste money, but damn does this car rip!

I am interested in trading for a licensed high roof delica in excellent condition that is near Vancouver BC, as far as say kelowna, victoria, or pemberton. The more addons the better.

Thanks

Sounds like a pretty hot car of you're into that for sure. Trading a Deli across to one seems a bit like trading a canoe or kayak for water shoes though. ;) Althought the water shoes are pretty cool (debatable), they just can't do what you can do in a canoe.

All ribbing aside, I would suggest you seek out a used car dealership that sells a wide range of vehicles and happens to have a sweet Delica on their lot. I searched (and added to my favorites) quite a few lots in around the Greater Vancouver area when seeking a Deli for my wife. I know there are a few lots that had nice Deli's for sale, although we chose a dealership specializing as our final decision. My point is though, that you might find a better trade ability with a lot that can flip your car as easily or more so than a Deli. If they see the potential of making the same coin off your car, but faster than that Deli on the lot, you might have a deal to be made.

One piece of advice I'd give is to have a reputable shop go over the Deli...no matter what lot you buy from and what they tell you their mechanic's assessment was, I'd pay the buck and a half to have everything gone over...for peace of mind.

Cheers and good luck. I hope ya find what you want for what you want to find it for. :)
