I haven't been to their website but I have seen many of their postings on Buy&Sell. If their website is the same then their 'inventory' is mostly vehicles that are still in Japan as part of other companies actual inventories. Might be a fine business but for me the practice of advertising other peoples vehicles as your inventory is a low class tactic and would make me steer clear. You could get the same vehicle for less by dealing direct.

Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
Wow, that's probably the best site design I've come across for JDM Vehicles.
I was also curious so I did the typical WHOIS Lookup and Google search. WHois returns nothing as the privacy feature was invoked.
Google returned a couple of rants. They got themselves into trouble on the IOVAC forum last year and Wayne gave them a spanking for one of their posts.
Another consumer based watchdog site has a ripoff 'report' that links them to Abenante Motor Group and someone called 'Johnny Chung', and gives the details of a transaction gone bad involving a Toyota Hiace Van. Apparently Chosun Imports, Abenante Motors and Bay City Kia are all owned by the same people.
The name would suggest a Korean origin, not Japanese. The financing that is offered on the site appears to be one of those turnkey third party high interest finance companies that gives the company that steered the client in their direction a generous commission.

Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
we are in the 'process' of using chosun imports and have been dealing with johnny chung. so far so good. hes defineatly a "car salesman" if you get my drift. ill keep you updated if something goes wrong. he located us exactly what we were looking for in 1.5 weeks. we had been waiting 2 months for Japanoid to find us what we wanted (we need a 5-speed manual exceed with crystal roof) and decided to try some other importers. we think we'll be using japanoid for any future repairs though as they focus mainly on these imports in their shop. good luck! *dalyn
Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
before i bought my van, i went to chosun imports, most of the vehicles on their website are copy and paste from Japan Auto Direct, (don't belong to them). they hardly know anything about delicas, they said all delicas are fully serviced from japan from their shop, but saw a van with all belts cracking, and oil leaking badly. i would not consider them at all. besides they use typical pressure sale.

Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
I recently purchased my 1992 Mitsubishi Delica from Chosun Imports and wanted to share my experience. I was dealing with a fellow named Johnny Chung and although I had doubts before because I read a negative blog about them. I was surprised at the professionalism and customer service they provided me with. Really made finding my vehicle easy, simple and enjoyable. I bought lots of vehicles other places where they basically dont try to make an effort but they were very polite and nice to deal with. Even the secretary was very helpful. I don't usually buy anything over the phone because I live to far away to make a trip but I signed up for there vehicle locate program because I was having a hard time finding my Delica that I wanted. I did it only because my representative seemed to be pretty knowledgable and there was a moneyback guarantee if they didn't find the one that I wanted so I took a shot. Lets just say they found my vehicle in only 2 weeks and had purchased it through their program had it shipped from Japan and just started driving it only 2 months later. I was impressed because they called me a couple times at late hours in the night to inform me of potential vehicles and I was part of the decision making. Anyhow other than the fact that their were a few minor things I ended up tweaking a little bit expected of a 15 year old vehicle I am happy to say that it was exactly what I wanted and the condition was the probably the best that I had seen around. Seriously went to see alot of Delicas on the market that were available so I know whats out there as far as condition goes. I just gotta say that I was pretty satisfied with my van and their company made the process really easy for me and shipped it to my door. I gotta like that didn't even have to leave my house to buy it. By the way does anyone here know anything about the biodiesel conversion thing that Ive been hearing about? Ill check the other forums......if noone replies ........... cant wait to take my Delica off roading .......

Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
After reading that 'RipoffReport' I wouldn't go to them at all!
As a salesman myself, who holds personal integrity as the best sales tool, I find what happened to be completely unprofessional. Although I think it is possible that they have learned from their mistakes and who knows, maybe this was a question of one side vs. another. And maybe we are seeing a snapshot of something beyond the normal runnings they do. But if it was me, I would go to the many other dealers listed on this site that have great reviews.
I dropped a deposit off with Mardy with only a picture to go on. I am very busy and I had only one day to head out to Van. to see him. I called him fairly 'last minute' and he agreed to meet me on a Sunday. It poured rain... soaking westcoast style. But he stood out in the rain with us as we all talked options. He let my wife take his personal Delica for a test drive (I have already driven them) and was never pressuring us to do anything.
I mention this as I think that even though we are only talking about a car, I think it's very important to have a relationship with your dealer. I have long standing relationships with my clients so they know that if I say something can or can't be done they know that I'm being honest and have their best interest at heart. Why bother with anything less?
So far, my Delica is yet to arrive, but I'm not the least bit concerned. I know that my dealer does what he says and was very clear about his position. I'm sure when it arrives it will be everything I expected, or my dealer will work with me to solve whatever issues may come up.
To qualify, I'm not a car salesman.

Re: Chosun Imports.....anyone?
I'd give one of the Delica specialists first right of refusal. I'd talk to somebody like Japanoid (who just did Gumdrop's fall oil change) or our friend Mardy...
