The Toyota Prius

Anyone own one of these? Been thinking of doing my part to help out the environment, but they look kinda pricey!

At first I thought you guys were being a little harsh. But then I looked back at the original post and remembered reading it last night and thinking basically the same thing!

Bought one in 2001 when they first hit the market in Canada, friend of mine bought one in 2005 after wrapping his 2003 Sentra around a pole. Both cars have been completely trouble-free and get pretty amazing mileage compared to other vehicles doing the same route. You can't tow a boat though, so therefore we got a Delica for that.

They are expensive, especially in Canada (compared to the US) but you can probably pick up a used first gen one for about the same as a Delica ($10k) They hold their value a lot better than other ICE-only cars, but of course not as well as a Delica, hehe

Get a Delica, run biodiesel and get a wvo install. Probably still half the cost of a Prius. Plus you are reusing an old van thats sitting in Japan rather than another new vehicle manufactured.

This website is Delica.ca, not toyota.ca. Good for you for trying to to make a difference in your vehicle choice but we here love to talk about Delica related issues. Join us, resistence is futile.

Who knows what they were thinking, but it sure made for some interesting reading on this thread. Maybe when they purchase a Delica they'll come back with another silly question. Wouldn't that be fun?
