Swapping out axles from a 92+ Montero/Pajero

Post by jessef »

Has anyone done this ?

I'm thinking of swapping out axles with a montero (same gearing) w/ electric locker.

I'll have to weld spring perches on the rears or put cups in for the original GenII springs, but aside from that, it looks like a perfect fit.

Also will have discs all around with this upgrade as well.

Opinions pls. :-D

Jesse

EDITED. Found a conversion on a GENI Montero (same as Deli's) with a 95 Montero SR (rear locker) axle and it fit in nicely. Few mods but nothing to write home about. Will start looking.

Have you tried the http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ forum? Found all the Delica axle specs there, splines/shaft lengths/etc, one time.

We'll need pictures when you get started on your expedition Delica!! Is it arriving on the World Spirit May 2?
