Just replaced the forward sway bar bushings, now looking at the aft ones. It really makes a difference!

Hi Falco , I looked at the rear ones when you were here and they were new ??? Or am I just not understanding the Aft bit ?? The rear sway bar links are only available from Japan and I have found no suitable cross-reference .

The Rear Links were new, Glen... I was thinking about the bushings. And the bushings are in goodish shape ~ but having experienced the drive since the new forward bushings went in... I am thinking..... $12.00, hmm... How much better could it get?

Falco.

Yes, rear=aft. I blame it on my father.

how much work to replace the front?

I have a fun clunking noise from my rear axle/suspension which I am pretty sure is worn out leaf spring bushing causing the axle to 'float' more than it is supposed to (although I might be out to lunch). Is this the same rear bushing you speak of?

My other fun noise was when decelerating at highway speeds I got a crazy humming vibration noise from the rear left. At low speeds I had a weird rubbing/dragging noise from the same area. I feared for the worst but the other day I realized my rear left mudflap was a little warped it all those bad noises were just it rubbing on the tire sometimes. I kicked it back into shape with my shoe = free 5 second repair :)

The bushings that I speak of are these black rubber thingys that wrap around the actual anti-sway bars (two each, I believe). They are flat on top, rounded on the bottom, the circular hole is vertical and the bar runs through the middle. Then there is a metal bracket that bolts on over top of the bushing that is gripping the bar.
Coaxial, I have not done the work thus far... but the bushings looked pretty simple. To get to the forward ones you need to remove the scoop like thing between the front wheels (I hope this technical jargon is not blowing your mind), piece of cake. By the way ~ did I tell you I am a painter and not a mechanic?

Falco.

BTW: I saw you on the Burrard Street Bridge the other day... smiles.

I second the Napa 265-2453. Fits like a glove.

So i went to lordco yesterday and went to order the Energy Suspension bushing #9.8103G, but there ordering sheet only went as small as 9.8122 so me and my dad figured we could gbet that and it would work out.in short its WAY to big.
why would lorco not have the part when they have it in the same company with a whole bunch of sized all the way down but not that one, was it discontinued?

anyways I NEED THAT PART SOON! if any one down there in the city knows they can get it or where to get it please PM and i will get my brother to pick it up (he lives down there)

again need "Energy Suspension bushing #9.8103G"

If you cannot get them I have a set in my garage. I paid 21.30 for them. But I am in Calgary.... I could fed ex them to you but that would probably cost you an extra 20 bucks...

You have a NAPA in Whistler. I copied the following off their website. I know the Calgary 16th ave location has a set if there are none in bc.

What you need is shock tower bushings ,they fit perfectly for the sway bar there made by energy suspention also ,get the polyurithane(however you spell it) part # is K7404? there the red ones Lordco. you can also try 9810R it may be 98101R? give it a shot ive got to many #s on one page. Its a very simple job one bolt cupple washers a nut ,spray them down with wd40 or WHY,and just loosen them off, lightly hammer or push the bolt out,pry apart the bar to get the bottom bushing out, same in revers to replace, very simple job you dont need to worry about snapping anything ,cept maybe the bolts but thats easy replace also so maybe grab cupple extra nus bolts case your rusted out.its only really a 30 to 45min job. i think the K7404 # is for Montero ,and im not sure those are Energy Suspention the others seem to ring a bell better.
Good luck. The bushings will samwich the sway bar, bushing sway bar bushing.
