What km per litre can one expect?
I plan to buy a Delica this next week or so. A salesman I talked to said I could expect 30 miles per gallon or 12.9 kilometers per litre. Not that I don't trust salesmen, but how many kilometer per litre can one expect?
Thanks
Kevin
Thanks

Salesman must have a sense of humor.
Average will be 12-11L / 100KM mixed.
Varies a LOT depending on how heavy your foot is and how well tuned your Deli is.

Hi, i dont think so jessie,
if your delica is not properly tune, you will only go as far as 9-11kms in the hwy max. as the other guy said by the salesman. this delica wont go for 30 mpg.
some salesman dont even know this as they dont own delica. they have to drive & own to know.
cheers;

Re: What km per litre can one expect?
After a couple thousand litres of fuel, I'm averaging 8.5 km to the litre (that's mixed driving). On the highway, it gets a bit better, say 9km to 9.5km to the litre, but I've got a roof rack and usually have a full load of children weighing the Moon Machine down. Even still, I think that's pretty good for a 20-year-old 4WD van!

Re: What km per litre can one expect?
I have posted, many times, 10 litres/100 km highway, and 15 litres/100 km city. This is over 10,000 km or so since last September, with a couple of long-ish road trips (Cariboo, Kootenays). This is consistent with the experiences of others, who have also posted their numbers.

After having my Delica tuned up at Amazing Auto it is doing an easy 10 litre/100 km out on the highway.

There should maybe something more prominent that points new users to the "Search" function of this site. It seems every few weeks someone's re-asking this same question. Searching the term "fuel economy" would probably turn up one of the highest hit counts of any search you could do!marsgal42 wrote:

I'll make an entry in the FAQ section. Should alleviate some of the repeatedness of asking over and over again, once more.

Re: What km per litre can one expect?
I recently threw on some new rubber, Pirelli Scorpions, to replace my knobby and noisy Firestone Wilderness TA's. The Pirelli's are much quieter, have top off road ability ratings, and I get better mileage. In the city 12.8 l/100 km has improved to sub 11l/100 kms. It adds up, as does keeping a light foot on the throttle, and using a long board to get to the beer store.

Sorry, I didn't mean to twist anyone's nickers. I made use of the search function before posting using your exact term.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Don't worry - I only just put something in the FAQ section. Look here.
