Calgary Hitch

Post by robinimpey »

Has anyone had a hitch done in Calgary, other than piyeguyo? (Sent you a PM) I would rather go to someone that has built a hitch for Delica already so I know what I'm getting, both in terms of the hitch and the price.

Sorry for adding another post about hitches as there are already plenty!

Thanks!

Erebus also had one done as a custom job, you should ask him who did it.

Thanks Green1. My guy from NAPA is chasing down a lead for me, but if that doesn't materialize then I'll check in with Erebus. Also if you want I have the ski racks that go on that ladder that you got from me. We can hook up when you pick up your van.

Hi Robin,

Fred is atop his deli roof rack, bolting his cases, and generally prepping for the off=road trek. I asked him your question, he says:
"The Welding Shop" in Calgary, near DeVry, got it done last autumn. Cost about $500.00 (but Piyeguyo cost only about $400.00 as not as fancy as Fred's). Tell them its a Delica, they'll know.

Jay of the TardisDeli (who deals with boat trailers daily) crawled around under it, pronounced it good, and especially liked the fact that the rear stabilizer bar stays in place (most places here remove the rear stabilizer bar).

Cheers, Christine, Administrative Assistant to Erebus aka Ruminante.

Hi Christine,

Thanks for passing along the hitch information. After all this I think we should make a post with all of this information consolidated together. I did speak with a welder here who is quite enamored with my "little" van and is going to let me know tomorrow how much and when he can do it.

Sounds like you guys had a great time on the weekend at the Tomahawk and CVI. Would have been cool to join in, but it's a bit of a road trip from Strathmore!

I had my done in Apr by The Welding Shop (273-7717) for $345 + GST, included the tongue but no wiring. Was able to work around the spare (very tight). Removed the old tube bumper (know anyone who wants it).

Got the wiring done at Hitch Warehouse (291-3566) $126.14 GST in, with Ball.

Have pictures just I can't figure out how to add them here?

If it's chrome, advertise it in the Parts section of this forum. Someone snapped up mine when I put a hitch on the back of Moon Machine.

Nice looking hitch assembly, BTW.
