rust bubble or bubbling paint on roof
Is this considered a serious issue, or is there a quick fix when/if one develops on the crystal roof? I've seen a few delis for sale that had an isolated bubble on the roof. Is this something that should be dealt with prior to buying, or is there a quick, inexpensive fix for this that one can do on their own? Does color make a difference? What does rhino lining look like on a roof?

Hi, run away from rust.
So very many of these have NO rust, so why buy a junker? Just to save yourself a thousand bucks, which will cost you way more to fix. And if you can SEE the rust, what about what you can't see, and then what about rust on areas you need ... struts, shocks, metal mounts to hold the Beloved Beast together.
Dude, buy from a reputable dealer, who does a full pre-sale service also ... you will save thousands of dollars getting a good delica instead of crap.
IMHO, Christine.

You can also rhino line the roof, like some have. Won't get rid of rust, but prevent further rusting. But like Christine said, if you have the choice, why get it - go for a different one. Lots of dealers guarantee no rust vehicles.
We bought a crystal lite even though they are more prone to rust. If it happens I'll deal with it, but for us, we liked the crystal lite roof. If it rusts after 5 years, I'd ask, "Was it worth $200 a year to have a crystal lite roof?" And the answer is definitely a yes. If it rusts tomorrow... not so sure about that.

And in answer to your original question - no, there's not a quick fix. There's a quick cover-up, but not a quick fix.

I have decided to risk a "bubbly" van, 'cause everything else is Wiggid Awesome- absolutely EVERYTHING works great and the van runs unbelievably, and Mardy hasn't even worked on it yet!

Re: rust bubble or bubbling paint on roof
I would maybe hold off on that if I were you. Usually after one bubble appears it will be a short time and another will appear. From having older vehicles in the past I have seen it before, I am thinking usually it is from a car being repainted and not all the proper prep work being done so that rust, not removed completely, is able to gradually expand under the new paint. I am not sure this is the case with your vehicle but I have a older Integra that went from a few bubbles to many in a few years. I bought the vehicle with no bubbles but 4 years after they started to appear. You should consider that you may have to endure the inconvenience of having your vehicle in the shop for a while in the future.
On a positive note, a Delica with a fresh coat of paint would look awesome :)
I know what it is like to want to have a Delica badly as I'm going through it right now hehe, I am trying to hold back a little so I don't make a decision that I will feel bad about later. Good luck and hope it turns out for you which ever way you decide to go with it.
