Hi I am looking at bringing a Pajero to Ontario from BC. Can anyone help me out with their own experiences? Who did you ship it with via rail? What was the process you had to go through on this end with the Province and what insurance companies will insure a RHD in Ontario? What kind of paper work did the insurance companies want to see (import papers? BC safety certificates? I have been making inquiries but it seems no one at the MTO or in the insurance companies knows what the hell they are talking about. Looking for someone to help with their own experiences. Thanks
Durand

I can highly recommend searail.ca for rail shipping. Pretty good deal shipping to Alberta from BC, I realise it's a heck of a lot further to Ontario.
I would think as the Pajero you bought was registered in BC already, it shouldn't be a problem registering in Ontario, but just going by the ease I had in registering the Delica.
Anyhow, 1 vote for www.searail.ca

Okay thanks I will check them out, in regards to registering it in Ontario I know it can be done I am just wondering how, people from the MTO didn't have a clue how to do it. The law in Ontario is that the vehicle has to be registered within 6 days of changing ownership. It can take up to 3 weeks to get the vehicle here after you buy it so someone at the MTO was saying that the vehicle had to be in Ontario within 6 days so you could then register it. I told her that it takes 3 weeks to get the vehicle here so it would not be possible and her response was "too bad", very helpful I must say. Bottom line is she had no idea what she was talking about so I was wondering if there was someone out there who was familiar with the process who could tell me what paper work they had to have and the order that they had to do it in
