Anyone know of after market seat options for our Delicas?

I actually think the drivers seat is very uncomfortable and I would like to replace it, just wondering my options? I tried searching this site and even the UK site but couldn't find anything. I tried Recaro's website, searched "Delica" "L300" and nothing came up. It might come down to a custom job with a Recaro or other aftermarket seat. Chime in with any thoughts.

Hey Ronin, you know I have those hard core Chamonix rugged upholstered seats that gave me saddle issues when I crawled out of the saddle after a long drive. You know what I did? I got the idea from Delicat and went to Cambodian Tire and squandered $120 on a pair of sheepskin seat covers (I like the symmetry and hey ~ you never know). First I had to get over my son telling me: "oh no! you've pimped the van out..." ~ but I gotta tell you ~ what a comfortable ride!

Why dont you take the rails off the delica seat and bolt them on to a recaro seat. It would have to be a low profile racing type to keep youre head from hitting the roof. If theres no place to bolt on the find some one with a welder and add some backing. ill look for some info i might do the same, carpenter with a back problem here.

we went to Cambodian tire and bought a couple Obusform seat pads, and some fuzzy (dog motif - of course) seat covers. Comfy as can be!

Ooo, I like the sound of those! We just use ultra thin poly-something towels as I find the seats too high and too far forward as it is. I had the same issue with my old VW bus but with the bulkhead set up in that bus I was able to take the seat right out and bolt in plywood and use some foam pads covered with a cool bead seat cover

I like the simplicity of this idea, but I am allergic to wool... Is sitting on a sheep skin the same? Is that a good option in summer?

I have sheepskins also, I brought them over with us from Australia. It stays cool in summer, warm in winter and easy to keep clean as it repels liquids. There are different grades of pile and generally the cheaper ones are just wool sewn into a synthetic frame as opposed to leather backed. 25mm (1") is the best, but dunno if that's available here. I had to get a 2 piece design to suit the chair.

I've had my sheepskin from my VW years of unheated heaven. I'd have a hard time going without them. If you can find someone who has some just give it a try, sit in their truck/car and decide if you like them. If you're by Vancouver don't hesitate to ring me!

Canadian Tire has a decent one but I've seen better when I was in Australia. I also found this place in Vancouver, haven't drop by the place but worth to check it out:
