Delica Vehicle Weight

Post by docsavage »

Drove over the scales at the mill to get a weight. Without any rear seats, about 15 litres fuel, and my 90 kgs, a Super Exceed, Crystalite Roof weighs in at 2050 kgs   .

Weighed the captains chairs at home - about 25 kgs each  . Rear bench estimate 35 kgs  .

Guess I need a 9500lb winch. Look at the T-max performance series with rope weighs 60 lbs 8) and $1100 bucks + tax 8) . Perfect for a reciever mount front and rear  .

Thought a winch link would be useful:

come along now

A good quality cable pull [come along] is an often overlooked alternative to a winch. It's not permanently attatched to your vehicle, so you can use it on anything anywhere, and it requires no battery. Much more versatile as you can attatch the hook as low as possible.

Argo,

A come-along is always a welcome addition to carry with you. We pulled a VW about 300 yards through the mud on fence posts with one. Lots of hours, but we got through.

I have used my Hi Lift jack to work as a come along  Not quite as easy. Not Much use for a Hi Lift on a Delica as there are no good jacking points. I may add points when I build bumpers, sliders, and a new bull bar. Only for emergency use.

come along

used to pack a come along - wish I had this wknd, buried myself in snow and only need ed about 4' of pull to get myself out but nothing to do it with and a lovely anchor about 20' away. Whole thing was very embarrasing.
