40Kg weight discrepancy

Post by Chewy »

So, I could be patient and wait until I grab my vehicles in a couple days, or..or or or.. some Deli Genius may be able to satiate my need to know.

Both Delis are the same year and type late 93 water cooled turbo model high roof no crystal lite no sunroof.

what could this mysterious weight be from....oh yeah, the additional weight is over the front axle.

I dint say I was a genius.

Well since they are inbound from Japan and not Mexico, safe to rule out Bondo.

I don't know, could be fuel, but that's more rear bias. I'm thinking no driver, as these were weights noted in the shipping documents, so I assume they would lack driver for accuracy's sake. But hey, who knows.

Maybe a fat guy drove one onto the scales and a skinny guy the other. Or, if your lucky, there'll be some Mitsubishi goodies weighing one down... :M :-D

well in the mountain bike world (especially xc riders) we have weight weenies.
find the lightest component to get the lightest bike. carbon fiber and light alloys.
foldable tires or even better tubeless tires.
hmm, what are the odds one Deli owner was a weight weenie.

ok ok, maybe it was a typo error.

Tomanique: they are both the diesel model, That's the first thing I checked.

Konadog: I hope to hell there are some goodies, but I don't know what weighs an extra 80 lbs that could be added, pictures show nothing though, I hope it's one of those wooden shoe boxes behind the front seats, great for camping! But yeah, could just be that one guy was a monster, and the other on the petite side.

DeLOOKA: Haha, weight weenies, funny you mention that my roommate just bought a Transition Bottle Rocket and I was harassing him about the weight, he scowled and let out a groan...he's more into descending quickly as opposed to xc though. But I wonder if that's the case, though the lighter of the two has 17,000 kms and looks like grandad rolled it around once in a while and parked it most of it's life, so I'm not too sure about mods, but alloys! AHA! the lighter of the two has teardrops, the heavier having the steel five spoke base models, only question then is over the fronts.

Golf Cart: The best answer so far, it would certainly brighten the ferry ride.

Are you going by the paper work? What I did was go down to the local transfer station, parked myself on the scales and the guy asked me what I was bringing and I said nothing, how much do I weigh? He said 2,350 kilogrammes. My paper work said 1,800 kilos, so?? I gotta say..... more cowbell!

hahaha, fair enough, I was not so secretly hoping there were some untold goodies like in the last car I received. I'm suffering from a severe desire to drive my vehicles! so I'm groping at any additional excitement I can find.

Hiya Chewy,

If you are coming to the mainland to pick up the deli's, please plan to use our TardisDeli Motel (near Annacis, we live on the Burnaby/New West West at the Gaglardi freeway exit). As you may have seen from other posts we love meeting other deli owners, and have tools, knowledge, and space to park a couple deli's and work on them.

Because you are NOT planning on picking them up from the dock then driving home, without working on them first, right?

AT least keep Jay's cell phone number handy, I will PM you with it, just in case. We have a guest room and a comfy sofa in the living room, so can easily sleep several people.

Hope to meet you.

Cheers, Christine and Jay.
