Oil dipstick or transmission fluid dipstick?

Help - which is which. i assumed the bigger one was the oil - I read somewhere here the bigger more prominent one is the transmission dipstick. My mechanically inclined friend who helped me with these things has left the country for a year and now I'm lost1

Oil dipstick will show black

Transmission will show a clear red

Yup: the engine oil dipstick is the one hiding underneath.
